hyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet Expansion

Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have expressed concerns following the recent expansion of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, raising questions about transparency and merit in the selection process.

Former Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shah Farman, congratulated the newly appointed cabinet members but revealed that he was not consulted regarding the appointments.

He stated that despite being a member of the party’s internal accountability committee, he neither received input requests nor suggested any names for inclusion in the cabinet.

Meanwhile, former provincial minister Nek Muhammad criticized the process, claiming that new members were not selected on merit.

He further alleged that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is not responsive, saying that even phone calls from party members are not being answered.

Nek Muhammad also claimed that relatives of MNAs were included in the cabinet, while regions such as North and South Waziristan, as well as Bannu, were not given representation.

According to official details, the provincial government inducted 6 new ministers, 4 advisers, and 8 special assistants into the cabinet.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath to the newly appointed cabinet members.

The development has sparked internal debate within PTI, highlighting concerns over governance and internal party coordination.
